The Ducati BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP rider failed to secure a podium spot at the Austrian MotoGP on August 17, the most recent event on the 2025 MotoGP calendar.
Marquez finished 10th in the race, but he claimed the runner-up spot in the sprint event, which saw him accumulate 15 points from Spielberg's Red Bull Ring.
MotoGP title ambitions
The 29-year-old is still placed second in the 2025 MotoGP Riders' standings, having collected 276 points from 13 races.
Alex is 142 points behind leader Marc Marquez of Ducati and 55 points ahead of third-placed Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati.

The 2012 CEV Moto3 winner has been second best behind his brother, Marc Marquez, for the better part of the current season, securing six runner-up spots.
Alex, who won this season's Spanish MotoGP, has to close the gap between him and Marc by recording his second victory of the campaign at the Hungarian MotoGP.

“Considering that we’re leaving Spielberg without losing points from Pecco (Francesco Bagnaia), we can say we’re happy," Alex Marquez said after the 2025 Austrian MotoGP.
"Today’s race can’t and must not make us content, long-lap aside. We must focus immediately on Hungary, where we want to return on competitive form.”
